Learning vocabulary from a textbook is useful, but interacting with those words in a real-world scenario is what truly locks them into your memory. Food is one of the most important and practical topics you will ever learn in Spanish, whether you are traveling, reading a menu or cooking with family or friends.
To make practicing this vocabulary highly engaging, we have built an interactive Pizza Maker: Spanish Food Vocabulary Game below. With "La Pizzería" you can put your listening skills and food vocabulary to the test as you prepare orders for our hungry customers!

This resource is designed to improve your active learning, listening comprehension and visual memory under a bit of pressure. Here is how to become a master pizza chef:
- Start your shift: type your name to begin. You will need it for your personalized diploma later!
- Listen to the customer: at the bottom of the screen, a customer will order a pizza. Read and hear the order. Click the "Play" button to hear the audio order in Spanish again. Pay close attention to the specific ingredients they want.
- Prepare the base: click the two bowls at the top; first, the tomato bowl to add sauce, and then the cheese bowl.
- Add the toppings: scroll through the ingredients menu and select exactly what the customer ordered. You will hear the pronunciation of each ingredient as you click it.
- Bake and score: click "HORNEAR" when you are ready. Every correct ingredient earns you points, but adding wrong ingredients or missing requested ones will cost you! Complete all 5 orders to download your official Spanish Chef certificate.
