What to expect from this online Spanish level test

If you are learning the language and asking yourself, "what is my real Spanish level?", you've come to the right place. This interactive test is designed to assess your current knowledge based on the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The test uses a progressive or sequential difficulty system. You will start with the most basic concepts (A1 level), and as you successfully answer questions, you will advance to more complex challenges (up to C1/C2 levels). The assessment combines different fundamental learning areas:

  • Reading comprehension: analysis of short texts and everyday situations.

  • Grammar and vocabulary: correct use of verb tenses, prepositions, and expressions.

  • Short written expression: inserting precise vocabulary (we have included a virtual keyboard with accent marks and special characters in case you don't have them on your device!).

  • Listening comprehension: Audio exercises to measure your sharpness with spoken Spanish.

An orientation guide, not an official certification

We want to be completely transparent with you: this test is strictly informal and for orientation purposes. Its goal is to give you a compass, a realistic starting point regarding your current knowledge so you know exactly where you stand.

However, this test does not issue official certifications nor does it have legal or academic validity for visa processes, university admissions or professional resumes. If you need to officially and internationally accredit your Spanish level, you must take standardized exams. We recommend consulting directly with the following organizations:

  • Instituto Cervantes: to obtain the DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) or take the SIELE test (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española).
  • CELU: (Certificado de Español: Lengua y Uso), highly recognized in South America.

Why take a Spanish level test?

Even if it's not an official document, taking a few minutes to complete this Spanish level test has huge advantages for your learning process. These are the main benefits:

  • Save time and money: avoid enrolling in Spanish courses that are too easy (which will bore you) or too difficult (which will frustrate you). Knowing your exact level allows you to invest in the right materials and classes.

  • Self-awareness and motivation: we often underestimate or overestimate ourselves. Seeing your real results will help you gain confidence in what you already master and clearly identify your weak points.

  • Map out a roadmap: at the end of the test, you will know if you need to review B1 subjunctive, or if you are ready to tackle advanced idioms and complex texts at the C1 level.

  • Track your progress: you can use this test periodically. Take it today, study for a few months, and take it again to see how much you have improved.

What to do with your results?

Once the test assigns your consolidated level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or C2), it's time to take action! We invite you to explore the resources, exercises and lessons on our platform tailored specifically to your learning stage. Identify your mistakes, celebrate your correct answers and remember that every Spanish expert was once a beginner.
